Description
The main function of this device is to drive different lengths of nails into materials, most commonly used on wood. The different lengths depend on the thickness of the material and the type of job you are doing. The pressure also varies on thickness as to much pressure and make it shoot right through to permanently damage the nail gun.
Function
The function of the framing gun is to take nails that are 3-4 inches and drive them through large pieces of wood using a high level of psi. The receiver tank is connected to the school and provided the air that is used to the compressor. The compressor compresses the air into a psi of about 120 and that is used for many things such as the framing gun. There may be a valve but we are uncertain if the amount of psi can be changed. The cylinder propels the air into the tube that links the compressor to the gun and leads the air up a shaft in the gun where it propels the nails. There is also a small hammer like component that is propelled by the air to strike the nails.
Refection
The device seemed to work extremely well and didn't seem to have many flaws. The only improvement that we could think of possibly happening was a safety system because if the gun isn't used properly then it can cause serious injury. The gun works with many sizes of nails so it is a very flexible tool in that you could use it for many different jobs. The most interesting part of the interview was a description of how being unsafe and misusing the gun led a man into nailing three fingers together. The device overall is a good design and it's components are very efficient.
